Mor Timotheus Samuel Aktas


Seine Eminenz der Erzbischof wurde im Jahre 1945 in Bekusyone geboren und ist aus der Familie" be Gsalo" wo er zugleich im Dorf auch ´ Schüler der Kirche Mor Eliyo war. Um seinen türkischen Schulabschluss zu beenden wurde er im Kloster Mor Gabriel aufgenommen, wo er 1964 durch den damaligen Episkopen des Turabdin Mor Iwannis Afrem(+1984) zum Mönchen geweiht worden ist.

1969 zog es ihn auf Wunsch des damaligen Erzbischofs der USA, Mor Athanasios Yeshue(+1995) in die Staaten um die englische Sprache besser zu erlernen. 1972 kehrte er nach Mor Gabriel zurück, wo er ein Jahr später auch zum Abt des Klosters ernannt worden ist, auch wurde ihm die Diözese von Mardin untergeordnet.

Als im Jahre 1984, der Erzbischof Mor Filuksinos Eliyas Cankaya des Turabdin nach einem tragischen Unfall in den Niederlanden ums Leben gekommen ist, wird der Abt Samuel Aktas am 10.2.1985 in Damaskus in der Mor Gevargis Kirche durch den Patriarchen Moran Mor Ignatios Zakka Iwas zum Erzbischof des Turabdin geweiht und erhält den heiligen Namen "Mor Timotheos".

Am 5.März 1993 wird ihm der Doktortitel in der Theologie von der Universität Diandra (Italien) und dem College of the Holy Spirit-California überreicht.

Trotz harter Zeiten gegenüber dem aramäischen Volk im Turabdin in den letzten Jahrzehnten und christlicher Unterdrückungen bleibt der Erzbischof Samuel Aktas standhaft und mit Hoffnung auf Gott auf eine Besserung des Zustandes weiterhin im Kloster.

Bis Heute weihte seine Eminenz viele Priester, Mönche und Diakone und hat das Kloster Mor Gabriel zum neuen erblühen hervor gebracht.

Neben dem Syrischen spricht der Bischof auch noch Türkisch, Kurdisch, Arabisch und Englisch.

His Eminence was born in 1945 in Bekusyone/Tur Abdin/Turkey. After he had finished the Syrian school (Madrasa) in his village he worked as a teacher for the Syriac language and for religion. In 1961 he entered the monastery Mor Gabriel and decided for living as a monk. First he was ordinated to diacon and in 1964 he entered the monk order. After military service in 1967 he took the leadership of the seminary in the monastery established by the abbot Yeshu´Cicek (Metropolitan - Mor Julius - of Central Europe). In 1969 he went to the USA to study the English language und theology. After his return he became the abbot of the monastery Mor Gabriel and took the leadership. After the death of the Metropolitan of the Tur´Abdin, Mor Philoxenos Ilyas Cankaya, he was ordinated to bishop at 10 February 1985 by H. H. Patriarch Mor Ignatius Zakka I. Iwas. Since then he lead the diocese of the Tur´Abdin and the monastery Mor Gabriel, that he also chose to his residence. türkce: 1945 yilinda Bakisyan Köyü'nde dogdu. Köy medresesinde ögrenimi bitirdikten sonra, bu sefer o çocuklar egitmeye basladi. Rahiplik hayati bana çok cazip geldiginden 1961'de Mor Gabriel Manastiri'na rahip olmaya gitti. Bir süre rahip adayi olduktan sonra, ilk basta "incili semmas" sonra 1964'te de rahip oldu. 1967'de askerlik görevini bitirdikten sonra tekrar Manastira dönüp medrese idare islerini yürüttü. 1969 yilinda ise dil ve ilahiyat egitimi görmek için Amerika'ya gitti. Döndügünde tüm manastir idaresinin basina geçti. 1984'te Midyat Metropoliti Mor Filüksinos Ilyas vefat ettikten sonra, yerine 10 subat 1985'te metropolit seçildi. O günden bu güne hem Mor Gabriel Manastirinin idaresini hem de Tur'Abdin Metropolitligini yapmaktadir.
